Project overview
CITCOnveyors delivered a complete baggage handling system for Osvaldo Vieira International Airport (OVIA) in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau — a new terminal project completed in 2026. The project covers both departures and arrivals, providing the airport with a full end-to-end BHS for its modernized terminal.
The departures area includes 14 check-in desks paired with 7 dual check-in conveyors, connected to collecting conveyor that runs behind the check-in line. The system continues with baggage diverters and a make-up carousel for sorting bags to their flights. The arrivals area features two baggage reclaim carousels for passenger luggage.
The project was delivered through CITCOnveyors' partnership with UBS Turkey, the system integrator, with FB Turkey as general contractor. This installation marks CITCOnveyors' first project in Guinea-Bissau, further expanding its presence in West Africa.
