AENA Vitoria Airport
Spain
Project overview
CITCOnveyors delivered a baggage reclaim carousel renovation for Vitoria Airport, part of the AENA airport network in the Basque Country, Spain. Completed in 2021 in collaboration with system integrator Mega Spain for AENA, Spain's national airport operator, the project included the replacement of two horizontal baggage reclaim carousels and the supply of dedicated feeding conveyors.
Both carousels feature an L-shaped layout measuring 40 meters each, designed to match the terminal's arrivals hall configuration. Manufactured at the CITCOnveyors factory in Romania, the carousels use stainless steel construction and horizontal slat design for reliable, low-maintenance operation. Each unit includes feeding conveyors for direct connection to the airport's baggage handling system.
The Vitoria Airport project was the first of three AENA carousel renovations delivered by CITCOnveyors across Spain, followed by Menorca Airport in 2022 and Bilbao Airport in 2023. This continued collaboration across multiple AENA airports demonstrates the reliability and consistency of CITCOnveyors baggage reclaim solutions within one of Europe's largest airport networks.
